Australia's Fighting Sons was produced around 1918 and refers to soldiers who enlisted in World War I (1914-1918) and who came from or had family in the Northern Districts of New South Wales or Southern Queensland. Similar publications were produced for other areas of Australia.

Men and a River by Louise Tiffany Daley, first published in 1966 by Melbourne University Press, is a history of the first fifty years of settlement in the Richmond River district. The original index has been revised and expanded by Robyn Braithwaite, Richmond River Historical Society Inc., Lismore, 2002.

Files contain material relating to people and events in the Richmond River District of Northern New South Wales. Some material refers to other areas if there is some connection with the Northern Rivers, e.g. the Shoalhaven Region. The material contained in the files consists mainly of newspaper clippings, typewritten information, and short histories. Separate listings are held for published works, original documents, photographs, maps, and prints.

Sword and Lance by Martin J. Buckley, published in Lismore in 1988, is the story of the Richmond River Horsemen who were members of the Upper Clarence Light Horse, the Richmond River Light Horse, "E" and "G" Troops of the New South Wales Regiment of Volunteer Cavalry, and the 4th Squadron, New South Wales Lancers. The original index has been augmented by Margaret Henderson, Richmond River Historical Society Inc., Lismore, March 2003.
